San Andreas was huge. To me, the city in GTA 5 looks about the same size as the 3 cities in San Andreas combined, but judging by the roads shown on the map and the size of the airports/airfields, it looks like everything has just been scaled up relative to the player (So roads wider, city blocks taking up more ground space etc.).
